Our company, in partnership with local and international firms, has developed a comprehensive LNG-to-Power project. The project involves the importation of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) via a permanently moored offshore Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) located on the Atlantic coast of Guatemala. The FSRU will have a storage capacity of 130,000 m³ of LNG. The FSRU will receive an annual import capacity of 0.5 million tons of LNG, delivered by LNG carriers from the U.S. Gulf Coast, with an avg. travel time of 18-20 hrs.
The natural gas from FSRU will be transferred to shore using a jettyless transfer system (iQuay) and gas pipeline.
The natural gas will then supply to 5x1 combined cycle power plant with a gross power output of 400 MW, powered by Siemens SGT-800 series gas turbines.
Electricity generated by the plant will be transmitted through 230 kV transmission lines to the Santo Tomas Electrical Substation, located 300 m from the plant. From there, it will be dispatched to the national electricity system. The total investment is projected to reach USD 580 million.
